About 55 Minutes

George Song

George has been interested in computer science ever since acquiring his first computer, a Texas Instrument 99/4A, in 1983. From developing a simultaneous equation solver for his algebra class to creating a contacts database for his father, George has always been intensely intrigued by human-machine collaboration.

Many PCs later, George decided to hone his development, logical, and creative skills at University of California, San Diego and University of California, Berkeley by studying computer science, advanced mathematics, and art.

George’s high-tech career began in 1991 at The North Face, where he was instrumental in introducing new technologies that improved efficiencies and capabilities across all corporate functions. In 1997, George was recruited by Westaff for implementation of PeopleSoft and Lawson enterprise systems. In early 2000, George joined ClearStory Systems to lead the Technical Services team in the design, development, and implementation of enterprise digital asset management solutions.

George’s specialty is the design and implementation of user driven enterprise application systems. For the past five years his technical focus has been on the organization, accessibility, and distribution of rich media assets. His other professional devotion has been researching and practicing various requirements definition and application development processes and techniques.

Outside of work, George’s lifelong passion is photography. Take a look at his work.

Matt Brictson
Founding Partner
matt@55minutes.com

Matt has always been interested in using technology to solve real problems and reach new audiences. In high school, at the Illinois Mathematics and Science Academy, he co-founded Real Science, an electronic science magazine that was distributed to hundreds of classrooms throughout the state and pushed the limits of CD-ROM based multimedia educational content.

Matt continued his technical education at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, earning a B.S. in Computer Science from the top-ranked College of Engineering. He was awarded the prestigious Bronze Tablet and graduated with a perfect 4.0 technical GPA.

In his professional career Matt has forged a path of innovative problem solving and technical leadership. He has been developing internet applications in Java since 1995, specializing in solutions that are easy to use and maintain. In recent years he has focused on the design and engineering of rich media web applications for large enterprise clients.

Today Matt closely follows the latest developments in the open-source and Java communities while also pursuing the evolving disciplines of user interface design and web usability. In his spare time he enjoys German-style board games and independent films.
