Requirements definition services

The value of requirements definition and user research

The first step to solving any problem is to define the problem. Clear understanding of business offerings, objectives and users turns open-ended problems into well-defined problems. The design of requirements is often the most critical phase of a software project. Quality of requirements is the single most important factor in determining the success of a software project.

Our process

55 Minutes has a proven track record of working across functional teams to distill common goals and requirements. As part of our requirements definition services we will:

Interview key stakeholders
We hold extensive conversations with key business and technical stakeholders to define business objectives, success metrics, use cases, functionality matrix, and design constraints. Stated and implicit requirements are uncovered and thoroughly documented so everyone understands which problems the project will solve.
Define user capacities
By conducting customer research and field observations, we identify distinct user roles, the characteristics of those roles, and their wants and needs. This process further ensures the project has no missed functionalities or un-captured audience.
Document the problems and tasks
We develop detailed models of user behavior, information needs, and common problems with thorough understanding of your business processes and user community. We work with you to present the findings in formats which will clearly convey the information to different stakeholders.
