The value of user interface design
For end-users, the functionalities of an application are taken for granted—they expect the application to be able to do what they need it to do. The user interface, therefore, becomes the primary factor in a user’s decision to use the application in the long term. The user interface is the dimension of a solution that users see and feel; it is what ultimately satisfies or disappoints them.
An excellent user interface can remove points of frustration and allow users to concentrate on using their skills. By making their jobs easier, an intuitive user interface will make users more effective and efficient.
Our process
55 Minutes specializes in designing intuitive and appealing user interfaces. During this phase of the project we will:
- Design page layouts
- Using graphical layout tools, we design possible page layouts to fit within your existing design guidelines. There are two primary goals of the graphical user interface: make it immediately obvious to the user how to accomplish her goal, and make it pleasing visually.
- Define interface specification
- User interface design alone does not make a complete specification. Specific behaviors must be documented so there is no ambiguity for either the end users or the developers of the application. Having descriptive narrative with clearly marked visual design ensures that everyone involved with the project can easily identify and understand each functional component of the application.
- Develop interactive click-through
- HTML-driven click-through provides a low-cost, interactive experience for stakeholders and users to get a feel for the application. It also allows any awkwardness or annoyance to surface during preliminary usability testing.
